I have lived in Stradbroke for 7 years and was brought up in Yorkshire, went to University in London and then lived in Birmingham then Staffordshire
I am 39 years old, married to Claire who is a Primary Deputy Headteacher and have three children, two attend local schools, one starts at Stradbroke Primary School in September
I work for University College London as a senior IT Manager and have worked for LSE, Warwick and Birmingham universities
I have been actively involved in the local community:
- Chair of Governors at Stradbroke Primary School (for 4 years) recently the school was judged "outstanding" by Ofsted
- Actively campaigning to Save Stradbroke Library and as part of a countywide campaign to save all libraries in Suffolk and Stradbroke Parish Council's Library Working Group
- Working with schools across the Stradbroke Pyramid Partnership (Stradbroke Business and Enterprise College and its 7 feed primaries including Stradbroke and Laxfield)
- Part of the team running the successful and innovative Stradbroke Village Website
- One of the founders of Radio Stradbroke a unique village radio station that broadcasts events and shows on the Internet
- I have just been elected as a member of Stradbroke Parish Council
